| A
strong case for saving storage
The storage of case information has a huge impact on the working
of our business
As one of the largest, internationally recognised law firms in
the world. Eversheds takes the way it manages an ever increasing
number of files very seriously.
When staff at the Manchester office moved into new purpose built
premises on great Bridgewater Street, the company reviewed its current
storage of case files with a view to adopting a more ordered system
to ensure that the company continued to provide an efficient service.
Ron Haines, Evershed’s Building and Project Manager, comments,
“Due to the volume of information we deal with on a daily
basis, it is vital that our staff can access it quickly and easily
- we simply cannot afford to be inefficient. In my role as Project
Manager, I was responsible for ensuring that staff would be able
to start work immediately on their arrival in the new premises.
I was also responsible for sourcing a functional and flexible storage
system that would maximise floor space as we were moving from two
buildings into one. This also included a requirement for mobile
units, so that files would not be confined to one particular area.”
After carrying out a full audit of the company’s requirements,
Rackline recommended 100 Pirouette rotary units combined with static
shelving and Monotrak mobile systems.
Minimum disruption to Evershed’s staff was paramount in the
installation of the new system. Rackline worked to a tight schedule
to ensure that everything was in place for immediate use when staff
arrived at the new premises.
In service industries such as the legal sector, time really is money.
The use of Pirouette units can reduce staff retrieval time by massive
50%. For companies who employ fee earners, this can have a real
impact on the bottom line.
