Launch of Filestation July 2006
Rackline are pleased to announce the launch of Filestation,
its new low level, deskside, mobile storage unit. Filestation, pictured to the
right, is the first product introduced by Rackline to the market incorporating a
modular design which allows it to sit directly into an office desking
arrangement.
Filestation is designed to directly replace lateral filers in
a modern office environment. It enjoys, like all Rackline products, the high
density storage that is offered by mobile systems and so for example, can offer
a 50% increase in filing space when compared to a typical layout of four lateral
filers against two desks. The patented Monotrak design unique to Rackline also
means that Filestation sits directly onto any floor surface with no need for an
infill floor, thus negating any trip hazards that other mobile systems cannot
avoid.
In designing Filestation the designers at Rackline went
to the architect and design community around the UK seeking their advice. The
aesthetically pleasing low profile, low impact end product is a result of that
collaboration. Filestation is specifically designed for the modern office where
there is a combination of electronic and paper filing, and where active files
used around desking need to be in close proximity to the user. Filestation cuts
retrieval times by 40% compared to traditional solutions which can mean dramatic
savings in costs in large office environments. In addition, in environments
where space is at a premium, the installation of Filestation potentially means
that more desk spaces can be freed up for fee earners in busy environments.
Filestation can free up to two desks spaces for every six lateral filers it
either replaces or substitutes.
Nick Marchuk, Rackline sales director,
believes that Filestation is the next stage in office evolution. "Filestation is
an exciting new development in office furniture, it takes high density storage
from the periphery of offices to the very heart of these environments and brings
all the benefits to within an arm's length of the ultimate users".
