Saving Solutions for Rural Payments Agency

With responsibility for issuing more than
£3 billion of Common Agricultural Policy payments to farmers
and traders across England, the Rural Payments Agency in Newcastle
must keep its records in order at all times. But as the number of
files continues to increase, there will always be a desperate need
for more space.
Relocation
Requires Storage Innovation

The relocation of a business or organisation
is often the prompt for a review of how important information is
stored. When the Public Guardianship Office (PGO) relocated from
Holborn to Archway Tower in London, they approached Rackline, specialists
in complete storage solutions, to provide an innovative solution
which would allow staff easy access to large volumes of client files.
How Rackline
Stopped the Merry-go-Round

Companies House, based in Cardiff deal with
1.6 million live companies in England and Wales. It is responsible
for the registration and provision of company information. Since
1976 they had been storing records on Fische film, retained in large
carousels which were very space inefficient. Whilst the Fische records
are no longer growing due to the move over to digital imaging, any
company’s records have to be retained during their existence.
