The team at Rackline are delighted to have completed a recent retail storage project at the headquarters of Boden, one of the UK’s largest fashion outlets.
Founded in 1991, Boden are a long-established figure in the fashion industry, with a commitment to offering a stylish, high-quality range of menswear, womenswear and childrenswear. Based in London and with warehouse facilities in Leicester, Boden operate in the UK, across Europe and in the United States.
For this project, Boden choose Rackline’s mobile shelving system for use at their redesigned HQ, used to house the thousands of garments stored at the facility in the West London suburb of Acton.
This large-scale installation was performed using our Monotrak system which operates on a single guide track that was fitted directly to the existing floor system, relieving the need for extensive and costly site work.
Performed as part of the overall renovation of Boden HQ, the installation required a simple process that left the existing floor coverings completely intact and with no residual mess, allowing for storage to be moved when required.
Our Monotrak system is fully adjustable and saves considerable floorspace, with all units installed directly to the floor through a series of specially designed polyurethane wheels which are able to operate on a range of surfaces including carpets, PVC tiles and wood block flooring.
The main advantage of the system is that it requires no false floor, presents none of the trip hazards caused by surface mounted tracks and requires no additional floor covering (which is required when false floors are laid).
It can be easily be re-sited within the building without the use of skilled engineers. No disruption is caused during installation and it considerably reduces the point load on suspended floors.
Due to the unique way the system spreads the load, Monotrak can also operate on a raised access floor without requiring additional reinforcement.
