Stratford Library Campus recently tasked Rackline with a challenging library project for their newly built “state of the art” library campus. The brief was to provide an acoustically appropriate, integrally lit static shelving system that would conform to PD5454 & ISO9001:2008 standards whilst being pleasing aesthetically to the collections team and the library users.

Rackline’s design team came up with a design utilising a product unique to Rackline, the Proform flush border shelving system. This product is designed to provide uninterrupted ingress and exit of books whilst having the capacity to allow features such as perforated end panels for criteria such as airflow and aesthetics. The design included shelving frames to accommodate integral aisle lighting with integral acoustic properties to suit the public use library environment.

The installation spans 3 floors and comprises of approx. 700 bays and was completed in early April 2013. See below images showing the completed Library shelving installation during the handover period.
